Stage 1 - Design

01. - CLIENT BRIEFING

The first stage of a project includes the following:

• Visit site and carry out an initial appraisal, including survey of existing work

• Provide general advice on the need to obtain Planning Permission and other Statutory requirements

• Appointment of Site Surveying Consultant, if required

• Development of client brief for the project

• Advise with regard to rights of light or rights of support and party walls.

02. - SCHEME DESIGN

This is the first design proposal, which is presented by the Architect. Further input from the client is required at this time to agree the design proposals, which will be brought forward and developed to the next stage.

• Prepare Design Scheme in 3D format
• Provide information to other consultants (Structural Engineers, Services Engineer, Quantity Surveyor) for the preparation of cost estimate (if appropriate and/or required)
• Prepare preliminary timetable for construction
